This Payment Policy explains how payment works when you order from CH Containers (the trading name of C H Containers Limited, company number 13163623). It should be read together with our Sales Tax Policy, Shipping Policy, Return and Refund Policy and Terms and Conditions.
1. Accepted Payment Methods
Payment is taken securely online, at the time of ordering, using the payment method(s) presented to you at checkout. Available payment methods are shown on the checkout page and may be updated from time to time as we add or change payment providers.
If you would like to discuss an alternative payment arrangement for a business or trade order, please contact us before placing your order using the details in Section 11 below.
2. Currency
All prices on this website are shown and charged in Pounds Sterling (GBP, £) only. We do not currently offer checkout in any other currency.
3. When Payment Is Taken
Full payment for your container, plus any applicable delivery charge shown at checkout, is required at the time the order is placed. As set out in our Shipping Policy, order processing begins only following successful payment confirmation.
We do not reserve stock, containers or delivery slots on the basis of an unpaid or incomplete order.
4. Secure Checkout
Our checkout is secured using SSL/TLS encryption. Card and payment details are entered directly with our payment provider(s) and are processed on their secure systems – CH Containers does not receive or store your full card number, expiry date or security code.
5. Order Verification and Fraud Prevention
Because shipping containers are a high-value product, we may carry out reasonable additional checks before confirming certain orders, particularly first-time orders or higher-value purchases. This may include contacting you to confirm order and delivery details, or requesting confirmation of identity or billing address where reasonably necessary to prevent fraud.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where payment cannot be verified, where fraud is suspected, or where a pricing or listing error has occurred, in which case any payment already taken will be refunded in full.
6. Declined or Failed Payments
If your payment is declined or fails, your order will not be processed and no container or delivery slot will be allocated. Please check your payment details or contact your card issuer or bank, and try again or use an alternative payment method.
7. Currency Conversion Charges
If you pay using a card or account held outside the United Kingdom, your bank or card issuer may apply its own currency conversion rate and may charge a foreign transaction fee. These charges are set by your bank, not by CH Containers, and are outside our control.
8. Pricing and Sales Tax
The price shown at checkout is the full and final amount payable, made up of the product price plus any applicable delivery charge. As explained in our Sales Tax Policy, CH Containers is not currently VAT-registered, so no VAT is added to your order.
9. Delivery Charges
Delivery charges are calculated automatically at checkout based on your delivery postcode and are shown, and included in the total, before you pay. Full details are set out in our Shipping Policy.
10. Refunds
Where a refund is due, it is issued to the original payment method used for the order, normally within 7 business days of the refund being approved. Full details, including voluntary return collection charges, are set out in our Return and Refund Policy.
11. Business and Trade Orders
If you are ordering on behalf of a business and require a specific invoicing arrangement, please contact us before placing your order so we can confirm whether we are able to accommodate your requirements.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Payment Policy from time to time, for example if we change our accepted payment methods or providers. The updated policy will be posted on this page.
